The food drive is up and running this week and White Bear Lake Student Council, along with the other service organizations, WBL Interact and National Honor Society, have a goal of a whopping 15,000 pounds of food this year. The service organizations need students and their families to bring in non-perishable food items such as boxed, dried, or canned foods, especially proteins, for the increasing number of families that need the emergency food shelf this year. This recession is hurting us all and there are families that desperately need any food donations you can give. Students should bring any food donations or monetary donations to their first hour class. Also students can help by participating in Trick-Or-Can, where students go to houses asking for food items instead of candy. Students can still sign up for locations on Friday, October 30th. Finally, students can buy waxing strips to wax the legs of Aiden Kochery and Doogie during lunch on Friday. This year more than ever people will need this food so please donate some food items and support your White Bear Lake community!
